The members of Sigma Phi Epsilon at SDSU are extremely grateful for their dedicated Faculty Fellows. Our Faculty Fellows are teachers at San Diego State who have taken on a commitment to help our members with everything from resume building to personal issues. They give membership development presentations to the chapter, attend officer meetings, and hold regular office hours for members to come in and get some one on one assistance. Our faculty fellows serve as resources, mentors, and friends, and we could not be more thankful for their dedication.

My name is Lori Bednarchik, and I am a Health Educator with the Health Promotion Department in Student Health Services at SDSU.  I am also an Assistant Adjunct Faculty member with the Graduate School of Public Health.   I have been working at SDSU for almost 4 years, and with Sigma Phi Epsilon for about 3 years!

I have a very unique and exciting job at SDSU.  I specialize in violence prevention, but am also the Wellness Coordinator at the Aztec Recreation Center where my main focus is healthy eating and healthy physical fitness habits.   It is great that I am able to bring Student Health Services information, and other health resources and programs to students and staff at the ARC.  Overall, the collaboration and partnership with the ARC allows Health Promotion to extend their reach, and reminds students that being healthy is more than just going to the gym.

As adjunct faculty with the Graduate School of Public Health, one of my main responsibilities is teaching the FratMANers (Fraternity Men Against Negative Environments and Rape Situations) Peer Health Education Track.  One of my passions has always been teaching, and I love that I get to do this as part of my job here at SDSU.   I train fraternity men to present/facilitate discussions about preventing violence against women to other all-male groups on campus.  The class is very interactive, and REAL.  I believe the men can make a huge difference in preventing violence, and all the men that I have worked with at SDSU have been amazing advocates for the program, and for women.  The FratMANers class is how I first got involved with Sigma Phi Epsilon.  Many of the SipEp men have been members of the class, and working closely with them in the classroom inspired me to get even more involved with the fraternity.

Prior to joining SDSU in 2007, I completed my undergraduate work at The University of Maryland in English and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Studies.  I also competed for four years as a varsity athlete.  I returned to Maryland for my graduate degree in Public Health.  I worked as a Graduate Assistant and taught health-related classes while I was completing my degree.  After graduation, I obtained my CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) Certification.  I relocated to San Diego in the summer of 2007, and have been enjoying the sun and surf for almost four years now!

In addition to advising Sigma Phi Epsilon, I also co-advise the GAMMA (Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol) Program, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Phi Kappa Theta.  I love working with students, and in particular helping to assist the Greek Community with effective risk management programming.

Christine Probett is an adjunct professor at San Diego State University in the College of Business Administration.  She teaches in the Management and MIS Departments and courses include Operations Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management and International Business Strategy and Integration.   In addition to teaching, she is a Faculty Fellow for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, California Delta Residential Learning Community.  Christine is also an advisor for three other SDSU student organizations:  Junior Achievement-SDSU, Golden Key Honor Society and TOMS-SDSU.

Prior to teaching, Christine had a successful career with the Goodrich Corporation.  She held engineering positions in Aerodynamics, Structural Design and Flight Test and management positions in Customer Support and Marketing.  In 2000, she was appointed to the position of President of the Aircraft Interior Products Division, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.  Christine retired in 2006 with over 20 years experience in the aerospace industry.

Christine was born and raised in San Diego and earned three degrees from San Diego State University:  A Bachelor of Arts degree in History, a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering and an Executive Masters of Business Administration.  She enjoys being back on campus at San Diego State and “giving back” to the students, the community and the University.
